Contemporary Escape in the Sonoma Hills

Sonoma, CaLIFORNIA

Relax and unwind in beautiful wine country. This Sonoma hills home offers the perfect location for a memorable vacation in the warm sunshine - just one hour from San Francisco.

5 BD 4 BA Sleeps 10

From the house you will look out over the trees and down into the lush Sonoma Valley, with its miles of vineyards, orchards and farm land. You will feel secluded and yet you are just ten minutes from downtown Sonoma.

The spacious, 1960’s renovated contemporary ranch is situated on a 2 ½ acre parcel with mature plantings, giant redwood trees and magnificent old oaks. The property is completely fenced and the secure gate uses a digital code for entrance. There are four bedrooms: a master suite with a king size bed, adjoining office and en suite bath; two bedrooms with queen beds; and one bedroom with two sets of bunk beds.

There are four full baths. There are also two sets of trundle beds in the family room. The great room has two seating areas, a large dining table that seats 10, and a very well-equipped gourmet kitchen. The cozy living room has a comfy sectional, a stone fireplace, a large flat screen TV (with cable) and a game table for backgammon and cards. The family room has another large flat screen TV, lots of seating, a ping pong table and plenty of space for children to play. In the breezeway you will find piles of pool towels and lots of sun hats hanging on the wall.

Step out to the back deck and enjoy the lovely views and our favorite giant old Valley Oak. There is an outdoor dining table and a gas barbeque on the deck. Take two steps down from the lawn to the heated pool and spa with an electric cover. Pool lounge chairs, umbrellas, a water volleyball set, floaties for kids and adults, a large cooler, a pergola with comfortable seating in the shade – and lots of room. There is also a whimsical wooden play structure in the back yard with a tree house, swing, climbing wall and slide.

This is an ideal house for a multi-generational family gathering. You can happily hang out for days and never care to leave. Or you can take a short drive to historic downtown Sonoma with its great restaurants, cafes, shops, grocery stores, a beautiful restored theater and many, many wine tasting rooms. And there are literally hundreds of vineyards and wineries in the valley and surrounding areas.

There is even a very popular, small amusement park (“Train Town”) for kids.

Sonoma Valley has a friendly, casual, country vibe – just 45 minutes from the Golden Gate Bridge. We think it’s heaven. You will too.
